Chinese Class

Chinese Class (1 week, 5 Classes)

A Brief Introduction to Wisdom Heart Education:

With more than 20 years’ experience, Wisdom Heart Education is introducing a week-long Chinese summer class at Bristow Montessori School for children ages 3 to 12 years. In our classroom, students will learn Chinese in a lively way.  It is obvious that children are able to learn a new language quickly, so parents should seize the opportunity and send your children to learn Chinese as a second language.

Teaching Philosophy

  • The relationship between Pinyin and Chinese characters – recognizing Chinese characters and learning Pinyin.
  • The relationship of recognizing and writing Chinese characters: first recognizing Chinese characters and then writing them; and focusing on recognizing more Chinese characters than writing them.
  • The relationship between intensive reading and extensive reading — both texts and reading materials are equally emphasized.
  • The relationship between reading and writing – first reading Chinese sentences and then knowing how to write.
  • Specialized in teaching the structure of Chinese characters

Introduction of “Wisdom Heart Chinese”

“Wisdom Heart Chinese” is a set of Chinese-learning textbooks designed for those children whose mother tongue is not Chinese. It integrates the content with pinyin (phonics), Chinese characters, and culture in the logical order and thus is perfectly coherent. After many years of use and revision, we have developed its curriculum and teaching manual in a systematic way.

Kids n Keys introduces children to the fundamentals of music and piano playing in a fun group-setting. In three 8-lesson segments students will encounter the concepts, symbols, and sounds that form the basis of music literacy. Our curriculum incorporates different types of activities and games that involve listening, movement, singing, and creative  music-making.
